For the past 50 years, scientists have scoured (搜寻，搜索) the skies for radio signals from beyond our planet, hoping for some sign of extraterrestrial life (外星生命). But an Arizona State University physicist says there’s no reason alien life couldn’t already be among us here on Earth.

In May, Forbes (美国著名财经杂志《福布斯》) made a list of the wonderful and curious dishes of the world, with a bias toward uncovering hidden regional or national delicacies (佳肴). The “hot pot” from Sichuan, and “shen jian bao” from Shanghai have become two of those “must-haves”. “In China you’ll find the streets are lined with boiling pots, called hot pot, filled with soup ingredients, especially in Sichuan. While Shanghai is best known for its street food, especially Shen jian bao,” said the magazine.
